During a recent podcast interview, California Governor Gavin Newsom appeared to mock Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party over the quick nomination process that took place without Harris receiving any primary votes.
Newsom spoke on Pod Save America, a left-leaning podcast hosted by former members of the Obama Administration, where he discussed the Democratic National Convention and Harris’s selection as the nominee. When questioned about the accelerated primary schedule and what some viewed as the swift endorsement of Harris, Newsom, with a noticeable smirk, seemed to offer a subtle critique of both Harris and the Democratic Party’s approach.
“How are you feeling about the switch?” Pod Save America co-host Jon Favreau asked. “We went through a very open process, a very inclusive process. It was bottom-up, I don’t know if you know that,” Newsom said with a laugh. “That’s what I’ve been told to say.”
“It was a blitz primary, I believe is what they called it,” Favreau said
