Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department are seeking assistance from the public to locate those responsible for the shooting death of a man at a gas station in South Los Angeles in 2023.
On Wednesday, the LAPD reissued a $50,000 reward for information that could help identify and lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals involved in the murder.
The incident occurred in December 2023, when detectives responded to a fatal shooting at a gas station near Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Marquette Scott from Victorville, was sitting in his parked car when an unidentified suspect approached and shot him.
Footage from surveillance cameras shows Scott being ambushed by two suspects who arrived in a white SUV. One suspect is seen firing at Scott’s vehicle, while another suspect points a gun at the victim before both suspects flee in the SUV.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. The reward was increased on April 3 after detectives from the LAPD South Bureau Homicide Division had exhausted all available leads and resources.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the South Bureau Homicide Division at (323) 786-5110.
