FRESNO, Calif. — A surveillance camera at the Fresno Chafee Zoo captured the remarkable moment a baby elephant was born early Monday morning.
The zoo announced on Tuesday that Amahle, the mother elephant, welcomed her calf that morning. Later on Tuesday, the zoo released video footage showing the birth of the newborn elephant.
This is the second calf born recently at the zoo after a nearly 2 year long wait.
