A UK mother traveling with her 11-year-old son was horrified to discover a hotel worker sneaking into their room and stealing her underwear during their stay at Hotel Ambassador Playa II in Benidorm, Spain.
Rara Armstrong, a model and content creator from Gloucester, Gloucestershire, was on vacation in May when she encountered the unsettling incident. According to Kennedy News and Media, Armstrong, 39, had booked the trip through LoveHolidays. She reported feeling “violated” after a staff member, whom she described as “really overly friendly,” asked for her number and to take her out for coffee. Despite her refusal and her explanation that she was with her son, the staff member continued to press her.
Armstrong recounted, “I was, like, ‘No,’ and I felt really uncomfortable. He just wouldn’t drop it. I said, ‘I’ve got a boyfriend,’ just so he’d leave me alone.”
Later, Armstrong discovered that the worker had subscribed to her OnlyFans account, which made her “a little bit creeped out.” She noted that the worker had sent her messages on OnlyFans saying, “Oh, I can’t believe you’re in Spain.” Initially, she did not realize it was the same worker until he revealed he worked at the hotel where she was staying.
On the final day of their stay, Armstrong set up her son’s iPad to record the door of their room. The recording captured the employee entering the room, rummaging through her dirty laundry bag, sniffing her underwear, and then stuffing it into his back pocket.
Armstrong described the incident: “He sniffed them a few times. He carries on snooping; I don’t know what he was looking for. As he leaves, he sniffs them again and puts them in his back pocket.”
She expressed feeling “horrible,” “really violated,” and “scared,” wondering if the situation might have escalated further if she had been alone.
LoveHolidays issued an apology and confirmed that the employee was fired the morning after the incident was reported. A spokesperson said, “We are very sorry to hear of Ms. Armstrong’s experience while on holiday. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of the incident while she was on holiday, so we were unable to provide her with support or advice on making a police report during her stay. We have fully investigated the issue with the hotel and are confident the appropriate action has been taken to ensure this does not happen again.”
The hotel reportedly refused compensation since the complaint was made after Armstrong had left. She claimed that the hotel had instructed her not to share the video “The hotel are saying they told me to call the police and I refused, which is a complete lie. They basically told me not to show the video to anyone,” Armstrong claimed.
